Bollard Pull

Diehl Engineering Company can include the measurement of the pulling force developed by a towing vessel propeller, otherwise known as Bollard Pull, to the Horsepower measurement.

This is accomplished by recording the output from our 200,000 pounds tension load cell installed in the towin line, along with shaft torsional strains measured on the propeller shaft via FM telemetry, and a digital tachometer.

All of this data is simultaneously recorded at various engine speeds, to produce graphs of Bollard Pull versus Horsepower, Bollard Pull versus RPM, or Horsepower versus RPM, to suit the customer’s needs.
