DIEHL ENGINEERING COMPANY will design shafting so that it will not only perform its intended function, but also be optimally designed from an alignment standpoint, considering such factors as bearing loads, shaft stress at critical points, and vibration. Alignment AnalysisAlignment of Mechanical Power Transmission and Propulsion Shafting should not begin until some thought has been given to the desired results. DEC will perform an analysis of the shafting system to determine alignment settings for optimum bearing loading while minimizing shaft stresses. Our analysis utilizes our own proprietary computer modeling programs and consider such factors as torsional and whirling vibration, and changes in alignment due to thermal expansion and bearing weardown.
